Prior to joining FS-ISAC, Christophe was Managing Director at data and intelligence provider Acuris Group where he set up their Risk & Compliance business for APAC, focusing on areas such as AML/KYC Screening, Cybersecurity and Enhanced Due Diligence. Christophe has been based in Asia for more than a decade, starting off in Hong Kong before moving to Singapore in 2015. Previously, he has worked for a variety of consulting and tech companies.

Prior to joining Proofpoint, Jennifer held various strategic and technical roles at Cisco and most recently, WatchDox where she drove all aspects of product go-to-market through to sales enablement and content development. 

Jennifer holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategic and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BSE in Computer Science from the University of Michigan.

 

Kitman Cheung

Kitman Cheung is the Pre-Sales Engineering Leader for IBM ASEAN, bringing over 17 years of dedicated service to IBM. Throughout his tenure, Kitman has specialized in Analytics and, more recently, expanded his expertise to encompass AI, Automation, Security, and Hybrid Cloud technologies. He has held various technical positions across development, product management, partner ecosystem, and technical pre-sales organizations.

In his current role, Kitman works with key IBM customers in ASEAN on their digital transformation initiatives.  The main goals of his team is to help customers deliver innovation solution using the latest AI, Automation, Security and Hybrid Cloud technologies.

 

Cyrus Daruwala

Cyrus Daruwala is the Managing Director for IDC Financial Insights. Mr. Daruwala and his teams focus on all aspects of "run the firm" or "change the firm." His research and advisory practices cover banking, insurance, and capital markets and topics such as legacy modernization and transformation, hybrid cloud, Big Data and analytics, customer life-cycle management, digital experience, ecommerce ecosystems, Internet of Things, cognitive, blockchain, and fintech.

For the past 20 years, Mr. Daruwala has been working with financial institutions to help them assess their business and operational and technical challenges, select the right vendors/partners, better understand their IT TCO, and grow their customer base. Before joining IDC Financial Insights, Mr. Daruwala was a managing partner with a regional research and publication firm. He was instrumental in growing the firm's proprietary as well as subscription-based research business along with the publishing businesses. His understanding of a range of business, market, regulatory, and investment-related issues enable him to work closely with financial institutions, consultants, vendors, and government agencies on various multidisciplinary initiatives.

Shrikant Dave

Melvie Espejo

Research Director, Sustainable Strategies and Technologies

Melvie Espejo is a research director for IDC Sustainable Strategies and Technologies. She leads the sustainability research practice in Asia/Pacific, tackling sustainability/environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategic research themes with a 360-degree lens. Melvie’s across-industry, across-technology research captures topics, such as climate change technologies, ESG adoption and execution, sustainable transformation in organizations, circularity and the circular economy, green procurement, and sustainability/ESG regulations and its impact on technology investments, strategies, and the competitive landscape.

Melvie has more than 18 years of experience in research, business development, stakeholders’ engagement, and strategy execution that span multiple industries, including energy, infrastructure, construction, property development, transportation, financial services, retail, agriculture, manufacturing, and so forth. Christian Fam

Christian is a research manager for the IDC Asia/Pacific Cybersecurity Services portfolio supporting its research and client engagement activities. He is responsible for developing and socializing IDC’s point of view within security services surrounding legacy and modern cybersecurity technologies. Christian’s primary role will be conducting primary research with vendors, buyers, and industry experts to develop market insights in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ), including partnering research efforts with relevant country analysts in the local IDC offices.

Christian previously worked with top consulting firms such as EY, Deloitte, and Accenture in delivering cybersecurity strategies to senior executives to innovate and use emerging technologies to proactively defend themselves against cyberthreats.

Christian graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting degree (with Honors) from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He has been accredited with CISSP, CISM, CISA and fulfilled the requirements for CA (Singapore). He also has over five years of experience in IT risk and controls assurance, IT advisory project management, and technology risk management.

 

Vishal Ghariwala

Vishal Ghariwala is the Senior Director and Chief Technology Officer for SUSE in Asia Pacific. In this capacity, he engages with customer and partner executives across the region. In addition, he is responsible for growing SUSE’s mindshare by being the executive technical voice to the market, press, and analysts. Vishal also has a global charter with the Office of the CTO to assess relevant industry, market and technology trends to identify growth, partnering and M&A opportunities.

Prior to joining SUSE, Vishal was the Director for Cloud Native Applications at Red Hat where he led a team of senior technologists to drive the growth and adoption of the Red Hat OpenShift, API Management, Integration and Business Automation portfolios in Asia Pacific. Before that, he spent a significant amount of time with leading middleware vendors such as IBM, ILOG and Intalio, as well as the public sector.

Vishal has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

Dr Chris Holmes is Editor at Large for Foundry across the Asia Pacific region. Chris is tasked with keeping track of the latest happenings in the IT industry, directing editorial coverage across the region, and serving the communities of IT leaders and professionals our flagship brands serve. He will be working to support Foundry's CIO, CSO, Computerworld, Network World Asia, and Channel brands.

Based in Singapore, Chris draws on years of experience both in industry and as an analyst specializing in industry transformation. He has worked with many organizations in creating and aligning technology roadmaps and developing thought leadership to understand the pace of industry change. A frequent keynote speaker, Chris brings his expertise in both theory and practice to deliver insight and guidance.

aniel-Zoe Jimenez is Vice President for IDC's Asia/Pacific region, based in Singapore. He leads the regional research practices of Digital Innovation, Customer Experience (CX) & Software Applications, Digital Native Businesses (DNB) & Start-ups, SMBs, Consumer and Channels Research.

Daniel provides strategic advisory services to the C-Suite (CIOs, CTOs, CFOs, CDOs, CMOs, and CHROs) on how to develop and leverage technologies (e.g., AI/Analytics, Cloud, RPA, AR/VR, ERP, CRM) and new business operating models to become more agile, resilient, and competitive. He delivers workshops and strategic engagements for customers across Asia/Pacific such as assessing maturity, identifying gaps, crafting strategies and technology roadmaps, determining ecosystem readiness, business value metrics (KPIs), and skills required to drive future growth and profitability. Also, he provides research and strategic advisory to tech buyers and suppliers into the most emerging technologies and market developments like the Metaverse.

Earlier in IDC, Daniel was the founder of the Asia/Pacific Digital Transformation (DX) Research Practice, whom he successfully led from October 2015 to January 2022. Prior to that, he was the co-lead for Big Data/Analytics research. Today he also leads the CX/Customer Success, Marketing, Digital Commerce and the broader Enterprise Applications (e.g., ERP, HCM, and CRM) research in Asia/Pacific.

Daniel is a frequent speaker at IDC and client events, as well as in seminars across the region; and is often quoted in business and IT publications.

Daniel has more than 25 years of international experience with large organizations worldwide, from consulting to ICT and market research. Prior to joining IDC, Daniel worked for four years with Fujitsu Services handling presales and marketing roles. He also held a global role with Accenture for four years in the marketing and presales groups within the Financial Services Group. At Datamonitor’s London office, Daniel held the position of research manager, covering the internet, telco, and mobility markets.

Daniel holds a Bachelor in Philosophy degree with focus on Science, Mind, and Language — courses in Psychology and Anthropology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain.

Kailashyar is committed to applying advanced solutions to address the distinctive requirements of Asian businesses, ensuring secure and efficient management of digital identities, enhancing customer experience, and ultimately driving revenue growth.

Kailashyar’s academic credentials include a MBA and an Engineering degree. He embarked on his career as a technology consultant within the Core Banking System and has gained diverse experience working across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia within the financial landscape.

 

Dr Ashish Kakar

Ashish is responsible for managing and developing IDC’s Financial Insights programs in the Asia/Pacific region.

Ashish has over 20 years of experience in banking, insurance, and investments. His last experience was starting and scaling his own award-winning, algorithmic investments venture. Previously, he had managed large enterprise-wide transformation and growth programs.

Academically, he is obtaining his Doctorate in Business Administration from Durham University, UK, and Emlyon Business School, France. He attained an MBA from IIM Bangalore.

His research interests include private assets, financial services, ESG, financial inclusion, and data-driven transformation. He also teaches data-driven innovation to the Durham University MBA and EMBA cohorts as a guest lecturer.

Ashish also has two publications. He presented a co-authored policy document on smart cities in the House of Lords, UK. He has also published a paper on private assets valuation at the 4th Sophia AI summit in Sophia Antipolis, France. A European platform featured his interview on importance of AI.

Professor Lam is the Associate Vice President (Strategy and Partnerships) and Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He is currently also the Executive Director of the National Centre for Research in Digital Trust (DTC), Director of the Strategic Centre for Research in Privacy-Preserving Technologies and Systems (SCRiPTS), and Director of NTU’s SPIRIT Smart Nation Research Centre.

 

From August 2020 to August 2023, Professor Lam was also on part-time secondment to the INTERPOL as a Consultant at Cyber and New Technology Innovation. In 2018, Professor Lam founded TAU Express Pte Ltd as an NTU start-up upon successful completion of the Intelligent Case Retrieval System (ICRS) project, performed in collaboration with the Singapore Judiciary under the SPIRIT Smart Nation Research Centre. In 2012, he co-founded Soda Pte Ltd which won the Most Innovative Start Up Award at the RSA 2015 Conference.

 

Prof Lam received his B.Sc. (First Class Honours) from the University of London in 1987 and his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in 1990. Professor Lam has been an active Cybersecurity researcher since 1980s. His research interests include Distributed and Intelligent Systems, Multivariate Analysis for Behavior Analytics, Cyber-Physical System Security, Distributed Protocols for Blockchain, Biometric Cryptography, Homeland Security, Cybersecurity and Privacy-Preserving Techniques. In 2020, he authored a Technical Report on the “Application of Quantum Computers for Law Enforcement and Security Communications” for a Singapore Government ministry. Professor Lam is the recipient of the 2022 Singapore Cybersecurity Hall of Fame Award.

Before Grab, Leslie was the Director of the Economics and Investment Strategy Department and Chief Economist at GIC Private Limited, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund. He oversaw the team responsible for asset allocation, total portfolio construction, systematic investing, and identifying critical long-term trends that would impact GIC's portfolio. He remains an advisor to the government on reserve management.

 

He is an independent board member of Coinbase Singapore and Sofina AG, a global investor listed in Belgium. 

 

Leslie also worked at the International Monetary Fund. During his career, he worked in the Asia Pacific, Monetary and Financial Systems, Policy Development and Review, and European II Departments. He was also Head of the Financial Surveillance Division at the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

 

Leslie has a Liberal Arts and Sciences degree from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. in Economics and Finance from the University of Rochester. He also has a Master's in Information and Data Science from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a certified Financial Risk Manager and a CFA charter holder.
