He is responsible for developing and socializing IDC’s point of view within security services surrounding legacy and modern cybersecurity technologies. Christian’s primary role will be conducting primary research with vendors, buyers, and industry experts to develop market insights in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ), including partnering research efforts with relevant country analysts in the local IDC offices.

Christian previously worked with top consulting firms such as EY, Deloitte, and Accenture in delivering cybersecurity strategies to senior executives to innovate and use emerging technologies to proactively defend themselves against cyberthreats.

Christian graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting degree (with Honors) from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Christina Tubb is a strategic tech all rounder who has led departments across sales, partnerships, product management, marketing, consulting, investor relations, strategy, and M&A. Her mission is to keep people’s identities safe on the internet & hopefully help make the world a tiny bit better of a place for her daughter when she’s our age. Most recently, Christina has focused on new region launches in Singapore, where she launched Proxyclick and Ping Identity’s regional operations. She's passionate about tech for good, helping the next generation of cybersecurity leaders, and combatting AI-driven identity threats. In her free time, she co-leads the Singapore Women's Cycling Project. Christina holds a degree in physics from Yale University where she graduated with honours.

 

Cyrus Daruwala

Cyrus Daruwala is the Managing Director for IDC Financial Insights. Mr. Daruwala and his teams focus on all aspects of "run the firm" or "change the firm." His research and advisory practices cover banking, insurance, and capital markets and topics such as legacy modernization and transformation, hybrid cloud, Big Data and analytics, customer life-cycle management, digital experience, ecommerce ecosystems, Internet of Things, cognitive, blockchain, and fintech.

For the past 20 years, Mr. Daruwala has been working with financial institutions to help them assess their business and operational and technical challenges, select the right vendors/partners, better understand their IT TCO, and grow their customer base. Before joining IDC Financial Insights, Mr. Daruwala was a managing partner with a regional research and publication firm. He was instrumental in growing the firm's proprietary as well as subscription-based research business along with the publishing businesses. His understanding of a range of business, market, regulatory, and investment-related issues enable him to work closely with financial institutions, consultants, vendors, and government agencies on various multidisciplinary initiatives.

Deepika Giri

Deepika manages and leads the research programs in big data and analytics (BDA), artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and Web3 across Asia/Pacific.

Deepika is a seasoned data and AI professional and brings extensive knowledge about the impact of data engineering, big data cloud platforms, and data science across critical sectors. She has extensive experience in software delivery as well as sales leadership and management. She also has over 20 years of experience in IT services, including leadership roles, at Capgemini, Infosys, and Accenture, and has strong industry expertise in the telecommunications and retail industries. More so, Deepika has an entrepreneurial spirit and has previously founded her own online retail fashion business.

Deepika holds a master’s degree in communication systems engineering from the University of Kent in United Kingdom and a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications from the University of Madras, India.

Eddie Ang

Eddie Ang is Executive Director, General Manager of Corporate and Public Sector Business at Lenovo in Asia Pacific, overseeing key corporate and public sector business relationships in the region and leading the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) business, Workstation business and Profit Manager teams.

Prior to this appointment, Eddie was General Manager of Lenovo Singapore, and the Chief Operating Officer of Lenovo Southeast Asia. Before joining Lenovo, Eddie was at Dell in business development and product marketing roles.

 

James Sivalingam

James Sivalingam is a Senior Research Manager for IDC Asia/Pacific and is responsible for primary analysis and creating reports based on research produced by the regional research group. Based in Kuala Lumpur, James focuses on market and competitive analyses, as well as user demands and preferences within the region. Beyond that, he also gathers insights into the current technology trends and prediction, as well as evolving business models and practices.

Prior to joining IDC, James was a technology journalist, reporting on trends and analysis in the realm of enterprise technology and digital transformation. He explored how businesses are leveraging emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and automation platforms to improve operational efficiencies, to gain a competitive advantage in the digital age.

James graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with Bachelors of Science in Integrative Biology. He is currently pursuing his MBA at Veritas University College in Kuala Lumpur.

 

Melvie Espejo

Melvie Espejo is a research director for IDC Sustainable Strategies and Technologies. She leads the sustainability research practice in Asia/Pacific, tackling sustainability/environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategic research themes with a 360-degree lens. Melvie’s across-industry, across-technology research captures topics, such as climate change technologies, ESG adoption and execution, sustainable transformation in organizations, circularity and the circular economy, green procurement, and sustainability/ESG regulations and its impact on technology investments, strategies, and the competitive landscape.

Melvie has more than 18 years of experience in research, business development, stakeholders’ engagement, and strategy execution that span multiple industries, including energy, infrastructure, construction, property development, transportation, financial services, retail, agriculture, manufacturing, and so forth. Melvin Foong

Melvin was appointed as the Chief Information Officer on 18 July 2022. He is responsible for the overall technology stack of GDEX Berhad. He oversees the company’s Information Technology division comprising of multiple teams including software development, cyber security and infrastructure. Melvin was previously from Rakuten Trade where he achieved positive results in software quality as well as improved system uptime and reliability. Prior to joining Rakuten Trade, he was the Group Chief Technology Officer of a multinational company Premium Worldwide Co., Ltd for two years, based in Myanmar. He has held various senior roles, across ecommerce, property development, health, retail, manufacturing, education, hotels, logistics, and automotive industries. He has 20 years of work experience covering software development, database administration, digital forensic, and cyber security.

 

Methee Srisupundit

Philip Sow leads the systems engineering team for Southeast Asia and Korea (SAK) at Proofpoint, where he leads a team of highly skilled pre-sales engineers to deliver creative solutions to complex challenges within the constantly evolving threat landscape. In his role, Philip ensures the protection of critical data and assets across multiple channels, including email, web, cloud, social media, and mobile platforms.   

Prior to Proofpoint, Philip played a key role in driving the digital risk protection solution at Digital Shadows in APAC. He also led the pre-sales team at Splunk, successfully deploying operational and security analytics solutions in South Asia.  

Philip is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Technology Management and Computing from the University of Portsmouth. 

 

Qiu Kai

Bringing with him nearly 20 years of expertise in the fields of digital transformation and solution development, Kai is responsible to steer ANEXT Bank’s technology strategy to deliver tangible impact for SMEs. He spearheads various initiatives to explore emerging technologies, forge partnerships, and develop new business models, ensuring ANEXT Bank remains at the forefront of digital banking innovation. 

As a leader of the Technology team, Kai cultivates a culture of collaboration to foster an environment conducive to breakthroughs. He also oversees Product Development and Cybersecurity functions, ensuring the robustness of ANEXT Bank's technology infrastructure, security measures, and business continuity frameworks.

Before joining ANEXT Bank, Kai held various senior roles in leading software companies and banks. Notably, he played a pivotal role in implementing core banking systems across the Asia Pacific region for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. At LaSalle Investment Management as the Managing Director and Head of Business Technology, Kai developed a comprehensive 
digital transformation roadmap and successfully established a robust technology risk management framework, along with other numerous digital initiatives.

Kai holds a Bachelor of Computing from the National University of Singapore.

Ramprakash Ramamoorthy leads the AI efforts for ManageEngine. Ramprakash has been instrumental in setting up ManageEngine's AI platform from scratch. He comes with a rich 12+ years of experience in building AI for the enterprises at ManageEngine., The AI platform currently serves over 6 billion requests a month and is growing strong. He is a passionate leader with a level-headed approach to emerging technologies, and a sought-after speaker at tech. conferences.

 

Sam Goh

Sam Goh has 20+ years of experience in Banking & Information Security industry. He started his first career decade in Melbourne with ANZ Banking Group HQ, and had worked in Barclays HQ in London and Co-op Financial Services (CFS) HQ in Manchester, and back to ANZ in Singapore, ANZ China and ANZ Hong Kong leading Technology Risk & Compliance for the largest Projects in Asia - Core Banking, Internet Banking and Mobile Banking.

In the last decade, he worked with 4 Professional Services firms, specializing in Strategic Cyber Security & Technology Risk Consulting in the FSI industry, where he was the; 1. Principal Consultant for BT Security for AMEA, 2. Senior Managing Consultant, IBM Security Services for APAC, 3. Lead Associate for Booze Allen Hamilton in ASEAN, 4. General Manager for Korea in Ensign InfoSecurity North East Asia.

Currently based in Bangkok, and he work out of Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) Headquarters as their first CISO for DataX - a newly created spin-off entity to be the Centre of Excellence(CoE) for Data Analytics and AI for SCBx group of companies in our journey to be Most Admired Regional Financial Technology Group in ASEAN.

Sam graduated from The University of Melbourne with Bachelor of Science (Information Systems) and part of the inaugural batch of Graduate Cert in E-Crime investigation (from Public Private Partnership with Victoria Police Computer Crime Squad), and holding professional designations CISSP, CISA, CISM, CPISI, CDPSE, ISO27001 Lead Auditor, SBCI, MACS. 

He has also started the (ISC)2 Singapore Chapter way back in 2012, and served in various appointments including Chapter President. He is a regular speaker & moderator for various Cyber events in APAC from RSA Asia, (ISC2) Secure Asia Congress, Digital Ship, CyberAsia, ABS-MAS, etc. He was awarded top 30 senior Cyber professional in Asia by ISC2 in 2017, and recently awarded the CSO30 by IDC in 2023.

 

Simon Piff

Research Vice President

Simon Piff is research vice president for IDC's Asia/Pacific (AP) region based in Singapore. After almost 30 years in the AP IT scene, there are very few areas Simon has not spent time working within — be it cloud computing, business intelligence, datacenter management, security, and automation. From building ISPs in the 90s to explaining distributed ledger technologies in the 2019, he has always been across the leading-edge technology innovation and implementation across the AP region.

Always with a keen eye on how IT brings value to business leaders, Simon is able to articulate the key messages around these technological areas that need to be modernized for the Future Enterprise, the value they bring, and some sound advice on the next steps for technology practitioners and the C-suite alike.

Currently running the Future of Digital Infrastructure research program for IDC Asia/Pacific, the topics of data management, security, cloud architectures, as well as the more physical storage, compute, and network layers all fall under his remit.

 

Tony Kang

Tony Kang has over 20 years of experience in the business industry and possesses very strong and effective leadership skills, which led him to become the Business Vice President for the Singapore & Brunei cluster and the East Asia Commercial & Industrial segments in the Secure Power Division at Schneider Electric. In this role, he is responsible for the P&L of Singapore & Brunei in the Secure Power Division covering Data Center and IT business as well as business development in the Commercial & Industrial Segments for the East Asia Zone.

His broad expertise in business development has significantly contributed to East Asia’s double-digit sales growth in commercial and industrial segments over the last two years, achieved through pursuing DC and IT infrastructure sales opportunities via Electrical channels to increase market share.

Earlier, Amith was a Managing Director at Accenture Strategy and Consulting where he was a leader in Global AI Hub and responsible for working with clients across various
industries for clients’ transformation with Data and AI, from creating strategy, growth models, operating model, governance, change management to developing and delivering AI solutions. Before Accenture, Amith was the global leader of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Kimberly-Clark where he built the AI capability from scratch.
 

Amith holds 24 years of experience across multiple functions and industries. He is passionate about role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping evolution of humans, organizations, societies and countries. He brings a healthy combination of experience across industry, consulting, and academia. He further brings deep understanding across value chain of Artificial Intelligence from creating Machine Learning models, to building end to end AI solutions, to creating AI teams and operating models, to strategies for growth & transformation using AI.
